nike foamposite galaxy

So here we go again.

Nike has released its latest must-have sneaker. Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy.

It was released on Friday and people had been lining up for days just to have a chance to buy them.

In some places stores cancelled the release out of fear of rioting. In Orlando, Fla., more than 100 deputies in riot gear quelled a crowd awaiting the release of the $220 Foamposite Galaxy. In at a mall in Hyattsville, Md., one person was arrested for disorderly conduct. And in Greenwood, Ind., police said they canceled a Nike release after 400-600 people showed up Thursday night at a mall and were “panicking to get to the front of the line.”

The shoe’s release coincides with this weekend’s NBA All-Star Game in Orlando.

The same behavior was exhibited a few months ago with the release of the retro Nike Air Jordan sneakers.

In other countries people riot for their freedom. In the U.S. they riot for a basketball sneaker.

And we wonder why western society is going to hell in handbasket. We wonder why people are broke and are in debt and can’t pay their bills.

The Nike Galaxy “craze” will pass by in a few weeks. It will be over. Until the next must-have shoe comes out.

I feel that Nike probably orchestrates the hype for their products on purpose in order to get more publicity.

There is no such thing as bad publicity after all.

Shame on them.

The Nike Galaxy is selling now on Ebay for over 100000.00! WTF?!

I guess this is the sign that the Apocalypse is upon us.

  1. I saw this on the news and was appalled! This is one of the reasons I wanted to raise my girls with a minimalist lifestyle. I want my girls to love and enjoy life, rather than live life to have things.

  2. I wouldn’t blame Nike or any other company for great marketing. Let’s put the blame squarely where it belongs…on the gullible consumer. If consumers failed to buy what companies were advertising, there wouldn’t be a market for the overpriced item. Shame lies with folks who choose to stand in line for hours, even overnight, for in this case, a pair of tennis shoes with lights. Now that’s Shame!

  3. O.o What is this, I don’t even. People rioting over fugly basketball shoes? We really have fallen into collective insanity in this country.
