2016 will be best year
Look Familiar?

If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep on getting what you’ve always got

I can pretty much guarantee that a lot of folks are spending precious time reading various blog posts or Facebook statuses that state something like, “Make 2016 your BEST year!”, or “How 2016 WILL BE Your Best Year!”.

I call bullshit.

Here is why.

If you were to scroll back 12 months, you would probably see that the exact same stuff was populating the blogosphere and Facebook a year ago.

Somehow people seem to think that a new year is going to magically bring a new life. They are going to lose that fat and save all kind of money or some other bullshit.

I see the same thing from people now on Facebook.

It ain’t going to happen folks. I am sorry to burst your bubble.

We are lazy and impatient when it comes to most things. We want what we want, NOW!

The vast majority of us are not willing to make any lasting changes. We will not do a complete 180. We may say we will but about a week or two into 2016 and we will be right back into the same old routine of going to a job we kind of hate and stuffing our fat faces with potato chips and ice cream.

Those brand new sneakers that were going to help you magically lose the blubber are sitting off in the corner.

We go from one plan to the next to the next to the next. We never actually stick with something long enough to see if it is going to work.

“What do you mean I have to do this for a year (or 2 or 3)?!! The ad said it would only take a week!!”.

Sound familiar?

Yeah, I thought so.

It takes years to make something stick. To create lasting change. You don’t forget about someone you cared for in a week. You don’t lose 15 or 25 pounds in a month.

So forget about posting how 2016 is going to be so fucking great.

Maybe, just maybe, we could think about making TODAY great. That’s it. Just today. Right now. I mean, really, it’s all you have anyway.

Or you could just wait 12 months and you get to think the exact same shit all over again.

Unfortunately that’s what most people will choose to do.
