1.  Thinking it’s okay when your partner is rude to others because they are never rude to you. In time, they will treat you the same way.

2. Not letting them break up with you. You don’t want to break up because you are afraid of being lonely. You will be fine. You don’t want to be with someone who doesn’t love you the same way you love them.

3.  Being overly critical. It’s okay to give criticism, but make sure it’s constructive, at the right time, and mentioned in a respectful manner.

4.  Making excuses for your partner. You should not have to apologize to anyone for your partner’s actions. If that’s often the case, maybe you should find a partner with a little more maturity.

5.  Not maintaining a life outside of your relationship. Keep your hobbies and friends. It will keep you from getting overly attached, and ensures you still have a life if the relationship falters.

6. Allowing yourself to be emotionally manipulated. If you find yourself constantly submitting to your partner’s every command to “prove your love,” you are being manipulated.

7.  Complaining to your friends and family about your partner. They don’t know your partner like you do. If you only ever mention the bad things, everyone will think he/she is a bad person.
